Early Sunday morning, news of a brand new Spider-Man title hit the internets courtesy of the New York Daily News. The Ultimate Spider-Man, Miles Morales, will be getting his own Spider-Man title this fall in the Marvel Universe proper.
The title, “Spider-Man” will be written and drawn by the creative team behind 2012’s five issue mini series, “Spider-Men”, Brian Michael Bendis and Sara Pichelli, respectively. The Spider-Men mini series focused a chance meeting between Peter Parker and Miles Morales.
Per Brian Michael Bendis, in regards to the new Spider-Man title: “Our message has to be it’s not Spider-Man with an asterisk, it’s the real Spider-Man for kids of color, for adults of color and everybody else…”
As for the future Peter Parker, that remains a mystery. With the tease of the “All New All Different” Marvel universe featuring both Ultimate Spider-Man and the 616 Spider-Man, it can only be assumed that Peter Parker will be featured in one of the other Spider-Man title once Secret Wars concludes.
More details to follow.
