EW got the drop on a new character being added to CW’s Legends of Tomorrow…Civil War veteran turned bounty hunter, Jonah Hex!
Created by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga, Jonah Hex made his DC Comics debut in All Star Western #10 (Feb – Mar 1972). The scarred Hex starred in Weird Western Tales #12 through issue #38., when he would move over to his own self-title in 1977. The character would go on to be adapted to film in 2010, Jonah Hex, portrayed by actor Josh Brolin.
As for this latest incarnation of Hex, Legends of Tomorrow executive producer Marc Guggenhiem was excited about the prospect of bringing the character to the show:
“Ever since we decided that Legends would involve time travel, we were eager to do a story set in the Old West, but if you’re going to do a story set in the DC Universe version of the Old West, you simply must include Jonah Hex in it. We’re thrilled about bringing another well known, beloved DC character to television.”
The role has yet to be cast, but expect to see Hex in episode 11 of the series.
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow debuts on the CW on Jan 21st at 8pm.
