Back in 2013, Mattel launched a new line of stylized action figures based on the heroes from the DC Universe.  Light on accessories, the 6 inch figures featured multiple points of articulation, as well as, slightly oversized hands and feet.

Timed with the New52 reboot of the DCU, the figures sported updated looks and costumes from the comics.  The initial assortment consisted of Superman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman, Green Lantern and Sinestro.

With its higher price point (upwards of $12.99) the line didn’t see any additional assortments beyond the initial wave.  But, not before several “Ultra” heroes were introduced.  In bigger packaging, the Ultra figures contained a bunch of figure specific accessories and multiple hands (in various states of openness).

The Ultra Heroes consisted of Cyborg, Jon Stewart Green Lantern, Batman Beyond and the reason we’re all gathered here today, Firestorm.

Introduced at International Comic Con: San Diego 2014, Firestorm comes with 2 alternate heads, a disembodied Professor Stein head, snap on constructs and several hands (in various states of openness).

So…is the figure worth it?  Should you head out to your local GameStop ASAP to pick up Firestorm before they’re totally sold out?  The only way to know for sure is to check out the latest episode of #saturdaynightlosers.
