Hailing from the Elseworlds corner of the DC Universe comes Red Son Superman, courtesy of Mezco Toyz!

Based on Mark Millar’s seminal 2003 mini-series, Superman:  Red Son, the new figure is part of Mezco’s growing One:12 Collective line.  Standing six inches in height, the figure sports over 30 points of articulation, real fabric tailored costuming, several hands (in various states of openness), a fabric flag and display base (with posing pole).  And it all comes packaged in fancy collector’s tin.

What makes the figure completely worth it (besides the attention to detail in the figure’s costuming – the cape itself worth of any Superman) is the included disembodied Brainiac head. If you’re at all familiar with the Elseworlds tale, Superman dispatching Brainiac noggin from his body, is one of the best parts of the story. The inclusion of the head, just ties the whole package together.

But…is that Brainiac head the only reason you should have pre-ordered this Previews exclusive figure long ago (like ya boy did from the best comic shop in beautiful downtown Ben Salem, Capes and Cowls)?  Is he really worth the $150 he’s currently commanding on ebay?  Well, the only way to know for certain is to watch the latest episode of #saturdaynightlosers!
