As everyone knows, there’s plenty more to LEGO than just Superheroes and Star Wars.  For 2017, we’ve got new sets coming from LEGO’s most popular properties like City, Elves, Ninjago, Nexo Knights and Technic

Some really cool Technic sets coming from LEGO this year.  Some with power functions like a 1862 piece massive 6×6 All Terrain Tow Truck; Airport Rescue Vehicle and an RC Track Racer set.

There were non-powered Technic sets on display at the booth, as well, like an Extreme Explorer set; an Ocean Explorer set, an Air Race Jet, a 631-piece Container Yard set and a BMW R 1200 GS Adventure that comes with over 600 pieces.

LEGO had plenty of new sets from the upcoming “Ninjago” movie on display at the booth.  I wish I could tell you about them, but I’ve been sworn to secrecy.  In the meantime, there’s plenty of non-movie sets coming up in the near future, that I can talk about, like The Vermillion Attack, Desert Lightning (with cool cycle), the boat-based Destiny’s Shadow, the bomb tossing Vermillion Invader, Samurai VXL (with Jay and three other mini-figures) and the two big sets of the upcoming wave:  the very cool looking Dawn of Iron Doom and Dragon’s Forge.

New City sets coming for 2017.  Like a new “people pack” called Fun at the Beach; a Bus Station (with newsstand) and a 740 piece Cargo Terminal.

There’s a new “jungle” theme in City this year, as well, that’s comprise of six new sets:  Jungle Buggy, Jungle Starter Set, Jungle Cargo Helicopter, Jungle Halftrack Mission, Jungle Mobile Lab and the big set of the wave Jungle Exploration Site.

Along with the new City sets, there’s new sets for the Elves collection.  Eight new sets coming this year for the line that will include:  Naida’s Gondola and the Goblin Thief, The Capture of Sophie Jones, Azari and the Goblin Forest Escape, The Goblin King’s Evil Dragon, Alra’s Airship and Amulet Chase, Rosalyn’s Healing Hideout and the two big sets of the line…Magic Rescue from the Goblin Village and Breakout from the Goblin King’s Fortress (it sounds like the Goblins are going to be a real problem for the Elves this year).

Nexo Knights

It’s a big year for the Nexo Knights with new sets hitting stores now and this summer.  The new sets include:  Jestro’s Headquarters, the Heligoyle, Axl’s Rumble Maker, Aaron’s Rock Climber and what could be the coolest set of them all The Stone Colossus of Ultimate Destruction (with a name like that, you know you’re guaranteed a good time).

Pirates of the Caribbean

And finally…the highlight of the booth:  Silent Mary from this summer’s “Pirates of the Caribbean:  Dead Men Tell No Tales.”  No piece count just yet, but, the set does retails for $199.99 and is expected to ship May 2017.

Along with the Silent Mary, there are two new Brickheadz: Jack (Captain Jack Sparrow to you) and Salazar.  Both expected to ship April 2017.
