Mezco Toyz had several surprises in store for attendee’s at this year’s Toy Fair, but probably the most unexpected?  The appearance of a certain sailor man created all the way back in 1929.

One: 12 Collective

The collector friendly (and über popular) six inch line continues to steamroll into 2017.  Not only has Mezco added new characters to established licenses, but added new properties, as well, like:  Ash (with his very own Necronmicon Ex-Mortis) from “Evil Dead,” Flyboy zombie and Plaid Shirt zombie from “Dawn of the Dead,” and what could be the biggest surprise of the booth, Popeye?!?!  Yep!  That spinach eating sailor was present in all his six-inch glory.

From the existing properties, like DC Comics comes Darkseid (with attachable Omega Beams), a new “Ascending Knight” Batman, Deathstroke, Wonder Woman from the DC Cinematic Universe and “Suicide Squad’s” Harley Quinn.

On the Marvel side of the street, there’s Netflix’s Daredevil, Modern day Red Skull and comic-book inspired Iron Man and Doctor Strange (both looking very Steve Ditko-ish).

And, to the “Star Trek:  The Original Serie”s line, Mezco has added a six-inch Dr. Jim “Bones” McCoy and even showed off Captain Kirk’s Command Chair (with casual tunic Kirk surveying the scene).

Living Dead Dolls

Living Dead Dolls is heading into new territory for 2017 with a bunch of new properties.  On board for the upcoming year are Alex from “A Clockwork Orange,” Flyboy and Plaid Shirt Zombies (once again) from “Dawn of the Dead,” and Harley Quinn in her classic jester costume.

Original dolls are coming to LDD, as well.  Like a Beauty and Beast two-pack and a new line of five dolls called “Moulin Morgue.”

Everything else:

Mezco’s expanding their other licenses, adding new products to their Chucky, Beetlejuice and Hellraiser lines.
