Official images of LEGO’s latest Star Wars set have surfaced on the internets.  From 2002’s “Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones” comes Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive Docking Ring.

Used by starfighters that were too small to house a hyperdrive, the Hyperdrive Docking Ring allowed the smaller ships to travel through hyperspace.  Power by twin reactors, along with Ion drives, the Hyperdrive Ring was seen by many in the Star Wars Universe as a hindrance.  If the Ring was ever destroyed, it would strand the starfighter in whatever system it found itself in.

LEGO’s new set comes with four minifigures (Obi-Wan, Jango Fett, young Boba Fett and R4-P17) with the ship measuring 11 inches long and 4 inches wide with the ring measuring 10 inches high and 12 inches wide.

The set features an opening cockpit on the ship, 2 stud shooters, the ability to “dock” the starfighter into the ring, a very convenient handle (to fly the ship around with), and a trigger to release the Obi-Wan’s starfighter from the Hyperdrive.

The LEGO Star Wars Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive (75191) doesn’t have an official release date, price or piece count just yet.  When that info is made available, we’ll be sure to pass it along.
