To commemorate the 30th anniversary of director James Cameron’s landmark 1986 film, “Aliens”, NECA toys has released a brand new figure set: Rescuing Newt 2-pack.
Inspired by the iconic image from the movie, Aliens, the 2 pack recreates the scene of Ripley and Newt together, used in the film’s promotional materials. The figures are based on the authorized likeness of both Sigourney Weaver and Carrie Henn.
Ripley and Newt feature 25 points of articulation, with Ripley measuring seven inches in height and Newt coming in at five inches. Both figures reflect NECA’s attention to detail: Ripley sporting her stained T shirt and jumper, not to mention her unbranded Reebok Stompers. Newt, likewise, wears her dingy overalls and torn up shirt. Not to mention the the glazed look, with sunken eyes that Carrie Henn had throughout the film.
The 2 pack comes with Ripley’s modified flame-throwing M41A Pulse Rifle (with flame attachment – sound effects not included). Not to be out-done, and…what might be the highlight of the whole set, Newt comes with her doll head, Casey. It’s true what they say: it’s the little things that matter the most.
30th anniversary Rescuing Newt 2 pack retails for $44.99 and is available now for purchase at Entertainment Earth or your favorite store of choice.
Many thanks to our friends at NECA Toys for providing the sample for review.
