Sideshow Collectibles and acclaimed artist Stanley “Artgerm” Lau have come together on a new line of statues featuring DC Comics’ most popular cover girls, the Artist Series. And our first cover girl in the line? None other than Selina Kyle herself, Catwoman.
Created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, the very masterminds behind Batman, Catwoman made her comic book debut in “Batman” #1 in the Spring of 1940. Known only then as “the Cat,” Selina would go on to have a long, convoluted relationship with the Dark Knight over the following decades.
Sideshow’s new statue reflects Lau’s fun, playful style. Posed with her trademark whip wrapped around her waist, Catwoman sports a whole new, somewhat futuristic look in thigh-high platform boots, pointy ear hood and yellow cat shaped glasses.
Designed by Lau and Ian MacDonald, and sculpted by Joe Jung, Catwoman stands 17.5 inches in height and 11 inches wide at the base.
The Sideshow Collectibles Catwoman statue retails for $350 and is expected to ship first quarter 2018. You can pre-order her right now at Sideshow Collectibles website.
