It’s the end of an era.  According to the Disney Parks blog, the über popular Star Wars weekends are coming to an end.

Now this shouldn’t really be a total shock to anyone.  What with the Disney corporations building Star Wars Lands in both stateside Disney resorts and all.  Some things aren’t totally going away, though.  The Jedi Training attraction will be re-opening next month as the re-branded Jedi Training:  Trails of the Temple.  According to the press release:

“This reimagined Jedi Training experience will take younglings to the secret site of an ancient Jedi temple where they will face Darth Vader along with the Seventh Sister — a new villain from the Disney XD series ‘Star Wars Rebels,”

Star Wars weekends at Disney are no moreAlso coming this December is Launch Bay…an exhibit featuring behind the scenes peeks, merchandise (of course) and encounters with Vader and Chewie.

All this is to tie fans over until Star Wars Land is complete.  Ground breaking on the new land is set to begin in 2016.
