The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that CBS’ “Supergirl” has, indeed, been renewed for a second season. However, it won’t be CBS’ “Supergirl” in the fall. Instead, “Supergirl” is heading down the corporate street to join “the Flash”, “Arrow” and “Legends of Tomorrow” at the CW.
It’s not just a network jump, either. Trying to cut costs on the show, Warner Brothers Television is also moving the show’s production from Los Angeles to Vancouver (where the rest of the CW DC Comics shows are filmed).
Even though the “Supergirl” ranked #1 as CBS’ new drama and the fourth-best new series for the 2015 – 16 season, it still wasn’t enough to convince CBS to renew the series…even with a reduced licensing fee.
No word yet what day or time “Supergirl” will air on the CW.
